Exclamation 1999 es 300 LEAN CODE

Hopefully someone can help.

I have a 1999 Lexus es 300. New knock sensor new 02 sensor new manifold sensor. All belts are new car runs good. I have taken car to dealership and a master mechanic who has been working on Lexus cars for over 15 years. No one can tell me what the problem is the car just reads lean. It does smell really bad when I start the car. the check engine and vcs light are on and they stay on. new gas cap as well.

Thanks

Well when you say "very white" do you mean like clean as a whistle new looking? If so, I would lean towards a leaky head gasket.

This was the main cause I joined all those years ago. Thanks….Turns out it was a broken down grasp cable. I gave the cable end a good pull and found where it frayed and broke off.

In 1992 there was an old decrepit lean-to at the base of Wanika Falls that was later removed. Im guessing this might be one of them?

Where is the grasp cable?
