Default Just wanted to say hello

New to this forum, and I just wanted to say hello. I took a peek in the GS room, but saw a lot about the new versions. I hope some folk here still talk about the oldie but goodies like the GS400 - mine is a '99. Walking up on 86,000.

I'm seeking info on trusted places to go in Gaithersburg, MD area for a replacement timing chain and water pump. Any suggestions?

Dealer prices scare me... darn

Hello Tom,

Sorry 'bout my delay in response, but I've been in class all week for something related to my job. I got a quote from a service station that does most of my work on my cars. They gave estimate of around $800.

They're in G'burg and convenient. I trust them, but I don't know if they have done a lot a Lexus timing chains. But otherwise they appear to know what they're doing.

As long as you trust them then there shouldn't be any problem ..... make sure you get in writing the coverage for the new chain and such. Just in case something goes wrong after the replacement.[sm=type.gif]
