Default Stuck in Park- causes?

2002 Rx300. 133,000 miles. No problems until now.
I parked in a mall parking lot and upon getting ready to leave, the transmission selection lever was frozen in the "park" position. I did follow the manual and was able to drive the car, but it has done this a second time. Someone said that it may be the stop light fuse.
I did change it- but it did not appear to be blown. I just did this today, so no telling if this will fix the issue, but since the fuse didn't look bad, I'm not sure it will help.

Does anyone have any knowledge about what else may cause this issue? Thanks for any help.

Default RE: Stuck in Park- causes?

It could be the brake pedal switch assembly as well. Since your stoplight fuse wasn't blown check the brake pedal switch assy.
