Default 2000 RX300 random misfire in cold temps

Hello all,

I purchased a year 2000 RX300 this summer that had 125k miles on it. I needed it to replace my Volvo that died on me for good.

This week, I noticed when I started the car, it would shake a little bit. I’m very familiar with the feeling of misfires because of having a Volvo, so that was my primary thought. The CEL did not come on until today, where it only threw P0300 - random misfire detected. I cleared it and waited for it to come back and maybe tell me which cylinder it was coming from, but the CEL never came back on.

At this point, the car shakes quite a bit on idle when it’s not warmed up and it shakes upon accelerating (as a misfire would cause).

I replaced the MAF sensor over the summer due to the oil control valve being bad and I thought maybe that was the cause.

Does anyone have any experience with this? Thanks.
