Looking for suggestions!

My wife has a sunroof motor that died slightly open, so it leaks when it rains or snows. I've had it taped for the last few years, but tonight I thought I'd try to take out the motor to possibly get a replacement and manually close the sunroof.

It looked easy enough to pop out on the youtube videos, although taking it out in reality was quite different. I removed the sunglass/light assembly to expose the motor and unscrewed the nessessary 10mm bolts, but I just couldnt get the sucker out.

Is this one of those situations where I have to remove the entire head liner? I'm not sure if I'm missing a bolt or if this motor is locked in a certain way that is not described in the videos.

I'm considering just caulking the whole window full of silicone so I can be done with it, but if I can figure out how to take out the motor to fix the seal I'd much rather do that.
