shift solenoid

I have a 98 gs400 with 117k on it & I have to replace the shift solenoid. Is this a common problem? where can I find the part?

the part should be readily available at the dealership..i used to work at a non-lexus dealer, and the shift solenoids were like 60 bucks believe, but the price can vary by brand.
