Default Bumper Plugs

I came home from my dealer today after some minor maintenance and noticed one of the rear 2-1/2" square bumper plugs was missing. I immediately called the service department and told them to check the areas where my car had been. Sure enough, they found it in the wash area. It had fallen out when they washed the car. One person told me, "that happens fairly often". The service manager said, "it happens once in awhile", and they "tape them in sometimes". Now there must be a design flaw somewhere when you have to tape a $10.00 bumper plug in a $50,000.00 vehicle. I checked the other 3 plugs, and they really don't seem very tight either. Has anyone else heard of this problem? This is a new 2008 GS 350.

Default RE: Bumper Plugs

Hows it going? Just wanted to stop by and say i had this happen to me at one of those high pressure brushless car washes. 2006 Lexus GS 300. As the car came out the wash and before they bagan to dry the car I noticed the plugon the ground. They had a hard time getting it back in but finally got it. Took car to dealer for an oil change, explained the situation and they reseated it. No tape that I can tell. No problems since.
