I have a 94 ES300. Carried to my mechanic to find out why my overdrive didn't work. He disconnected the computer and manually shifted the trans and it worked great. Therefore, there was nothing wrong with solenoids or clutches. The only thing he could come up with was to replace the computer, but said that may not fix it. Is there a gimmic or some type of bypass to make my overdrive work? Every so often, about once a month it might kick in. Just trying to save a little gas. Hope someone can help.

My 00 es wasn't going into overdrive in 4th gear. I took it to the shop and the computer read a code for a Noc senor. I had it replaced and now it is going into overdrive. Sometimes with a little hesitation, but eventuallys changes.
