I had my timing belt and water pump changed at the agent. After that, while driving the malfunction light came on.

I sent the car back to the agent. The agent representative mentioned having scanned at the computer, some code, saying some parts needed change. (I dont remember which exact part). They just re-set the code, and said that hopefully the light will stay off. But if, not I would need to change the part which would cost me.

I said that the light was never on before i change my belt and pump. However, the agent mentioned that the the belt and pump couldnt have contributed to this.

Is this true? Can someone advice?

 

The part is the VVT-i gear..
