Had to put my 2001 LX470 (only 91K miles) in the shop this morning and was told the axle came out ofthe hub - front left wheel.The entirefront axle and hub (plus gasket) need to be replaced. Does this mean a joint in that area broke? The mechanic said he had only seen this one other time. Of course, it is not under any kind of warranty. Has anyone heard of any problems in this area? Am I just out of luck with any help from Lexus? I drive on paved streets only - no 4-wheeling from this soccer mom! Any info would help.... Thanks
