Default Air Intakes

Just bought an 2002 IS300 with 67,000k. I would like to put an air intake on it. Does anyone know a good, solid brand and can this be something I can do or should I take it to someone?

Guaranteed basic necessities have to be met in order for your engine to work up to its maximum potential. Installing a Lexus cold air intake covers the requirement that your engine has for clean, cool intake air, and lots of it. Putting a Lexus cold air intake on your vehicle now will make sure that you'll get your money's worth out of future modification. If you want to supercharge your horsepower, then it is high time that you add a Lexus air intakes to your vehicle.

For a cold air intake, I would highly recommend getting either K&N or AEM brands. They are of great quality even if they are aftermarket.

Some strategies used in designing cold-air intakes are:

* increasing the diameter of the air intake, allowing increased airflow.
* smoothing the interior of the intake to reduce air resistance.
* providing a more direct route to the air intake.
* tuning the length of the intake to provide maximum airflow at certain engine speeds (RPM).
* using a more efficient, less restricting air filter.
