Navigation DVD
 

I have the 2002 SC and would like to find a later version of the Nav DVD. They can be found on eBay and other 'for sale' sites. However, my understanding is that not all Lexus DVDs are interchangeable. What do I need to know when shopping for a later version?

I found the below information on the web and I bought an original disk of data version 5.1 and replaced the DVD in my 2001 LS430 with it. Works great and now I have many more POI's and can find most anything in my local area. I have read about three cautions though. 1) If you get the latest data version 6, you will not be able to over ride the setting destinations while the vehicle is moving. 2) If you get a copy of a DVD as opposed to an original, it won't work. 3) One more thing, make sure the DVD is for a generation 2 or 3 not the the one for the more recent model vehicles. I'm told they won't work in the cars older than 2004.

I think you said you have version 2.1, so look for a version 5.1 like I did. I paid $146. on Ebay auction for mine out of a Toyota, apparently all Toyota models use the same DVD.
