Hydroplaning

I am on my fourth RX but first Hybrid. I have over 11000 miles and have had this vehicle three months, so I do a lot of driving. I have noticed hydroplaning over the past few weeks on the freeway doing 65 to 70 mph. A sensation I never had in the other RXs. The speedometer drops down very fast before you realize it and when you let your foot off of the accelerator, the transmission kicks back in with a thud.

Anyone have this experience? Are these tires that different from the other models?

RE: Hydroplaning

I have 02 RX300 2WD. The Goodyear Integrity tires hydroplaned more than any tire I've driven (I've averaged 40k/yr for past 22 yrs). Changed them to Firestone Destination LE (after researching on tirerack.com) and have been very pleased.
