Just bought a 03 RX 300 with 93K miles. Looks like timing belt is original and not sure if trans. fluid was ever changed.

On another website (sorry, trying to find answers), I was told that I didn't have to change the timing belt as it wouldn't kill the motor if it broke...I'd just be stuck by side of road. Is this true?

Also, I thought the trans. fluid was supposed to be changed every 30K miles, but the other website said it's synthetic trans. fluid and doesn't get changed until 100K miles.


Am I getting correct info.?? Want to take care of my new vehicle as best I can.
