DIY- How to replace the Alternator on a '99 RX300
Hello again everybody!
I replaced the alternator on a '99 RX300 for a customer yesterday so I would like to share an elemental write-up on the procedure for this job:
1) Remove or disconnect the following:
Alternator electrical connectors
Wiring harness from the clip
Pivot bolt
Plate washer
Adjusting lockbolt
Drive belt
Alternator
2) Install or connect the following:
Alternator
Drive belt. Tension the belt to 170–180 lbs. for a new belt or 95–135 lbs. for a used belt.
Adjusting lockbolt. Tighten the bolt to 13 ft. lbs. (18 Nm).
Plate washer
Pivot bolt. Tighten the bolt to 41 ft. lbs. (56 Nm).
Wiring harness from the clip
Alternator electrical connectors

If you would like me to elaborate on any steps then just let me know!
