Any Austin Area Members? Need Handy LS Mechanic...
Hi Guys,
I live in the Austin Texas area and was wondering if prehaps any other members might live here & if so do they work on their own cars?
I've just returned to Austin after a 2 1/2 year hiatus and my 1992 LS 400 has been sitting idle all that time. I have it back on the road now but it's in need of a good service, with the check engine light just after coming on. My old mechanic was a car enthusiast whose wife owned the same car, so he knew it inside & out. I always felt very assured that everything he was telling me was 100%, and he was great at the preventative stuff.
Unfortunately he's not around any more. So, I was wondering, was there maybe another LS enthusiast who might live in the Austin area and be interested in doing some service work on the side for some extra cash??
If anyone knows anyone who you'd recommend, I'd appreciate that too.
Thanks Guys!
Work to be done:
Change out drive belt
Drain & top up transmission fluid
Tighten hand brake cable
Clean the throttle body
Change Spark plugs & Wires if needed.
Any other mechanical work they see fit to carry out after checking the car out.
Finally, the check engine light has just come on recently, so they would probably need access to reader to pull the code as the car is a 1992 model.
Thanks Again Guys!
