Can I use regular fuel in my GX470. In the Sequioa with the same engine it called for regular fuel which is of course .20 cents or more per galloncheeper. Has anyone been using regular fuel.

 

You can use Regular fuel and no detonation will occur , though you will have decreased engine performance due to the fact that Lexus designed the motor for premium fuel. The decrease is barely noticable so save the 20 cents a gallon and go regular.

 

i've used 87 octane on my GX 470 and it's fine. it's got about 100k and it's a 2003. i put in 91 when i'm towing

 

Hi. I am new to this forum. I bought a used 2004 GX470 and in reading the manual I didn't notice anything about using premium fuel. So, I have been using regular and everything seems to be working fine.
