Default Tires worn out at 21k?

I have an 07 ES350 with 21k on the clock. During a recent service the tech suggested I get new tires within the next 5k miles. He said this model Lexus had some bad tires and customers have complained about extensive early tire wear. Anyone heard this or experienced it? I looked at a set of Michelins at Costco and they want $840 installed. Any suggestions on less expensive tires. I have not checked around yet. Thanks

Did you rotate them yet im sure as hell hope you did. Its a FWD car soo the back should be fine and you dont need much trent on the tire. I think they recommend change at 30%?

my tires wear around 15-20k miles the tires are soft on RWD cars. You also cannot rotate the IS, GS, or other of the RWD cars. The only way I can make them last as long as possible is by always checking the alignment when I go in for any service.
