Default Engine Turns but won't Crank

I have a 2001 Lexus ES300. It has ~89600 miles on it. The car has been running wonderfully since I bought it used in Dec. 2010. Drove it yesterday for about 15 minutes and had no problems.

However, tonight (about 24 hours since I last drove it) the car turns but it will not fire. The noise of the engine sounds normal when it is turning, it just won't crank. Has anyone ever experienced anything like this before?

Do you have any suggestions on what it may be?

It seems like it should be some minor issue since the engine sounds normal. I'm guessing it could be some kind of fuse or switch that has gone bad but I honestly do not know at all.

Thank you so much in advance.

I was able to figure out what was wrong with it via a family friend.

The Lexus ES300 will sometimes not crank if the security "clicker" inside of the key is not present.

I did not have the guts to my security entry on my key with me because it had fallen out due to the screw going bad.

I used my spare key and it fired up beautifully.
