Dead Battery
 

I have a 2001 ES300 with 80k miles. About 2 months ago my battery died. I replaced it with a new one. Since then I would occassionally have a dead battery in the morning. It would charge up fast and last a couple days then go dead overnight. Now is seems to be going dead every night. It charges up nicely. I have checked everything I could find that may be left on. Any ideas? Is there a piece of test equipment that would identify the drain? Thanks. David

Yes if you take it to the local Autozone or Orille they will be able to put a load test on it and should be able to determain the problem. Also something you can check out yourself.... are the battery cables free of corrision and tight?does the car die when you are driving it? Most of the time i have found that it is either leaving the lights on and not exiting out of the drivers door, a light in the glove or trunk staying on or it could even be a factory amp not turning off. Let me know what you find.

I have a 1993 and have that problem. I have taken it to O'reilly, they did the load and told me I needed a new alternator. Bought one from Greenleaf Auto. Two weeks later, the battery light is on even with a new battery in.
