Battery issue

I guess that the good news is that I find no others suffering this same issue. I purchased a very nice 2010 350 ES in December. About six weeks of total delight, I stopped at the Super Market to pick my wife up from shopping. About 10 or 15 minutes later when I went to start the engine, the battery was stone dead. Wouldn't even light the security light. The service vehicle was not able to jump start the car. It was towed into Lexus where it stayed overnight. When I picked it up, I was told that the battery had shorted out inside and had been replaced with a new battery. It seemed that the problem was solved until 2 weeks ago. I used the car on Saturday as usual, but time to go to church Sunday AM, the battery was again stone dead.

After church, I was able to get the battery to accept a charge and after an hour everything checked out OK. At 3 PM I was to leave for a Dinner appointment and found the battery was barely able to turn the engine over. It started on a second try. I put jumper cables and a hot jumper battery in the trunk and drove about 20 miles to dinner. After dinner the battery seemed normal and has every since. I did take it back to Lexus on Monday and they had it until Wednesday and it checked ok every time they did an analysis. They were not able to find any problem.

My own auto mechanical back ground helps me to understand that such problems can be extremely difficult to track down, but that does not assure my wife of the dependability of the vehicle. I purchased it to replace a 13 year old car with 61000 miles, but had never let us down. I was diagnosed with cancer and at our age, did not want my wife to have to be concerned about an old car's dependability traveling back and forth to a Hospital in Michigan winter weather.

Sorry for the long post, but wondering if anyone else may have had a similar experience?

Thank you in advanced for any help or suggestions.

Is it customary for members to hi jack a thread for advertising purposes? Seem rather unproductive to me.

Thank you,
