Need some help-looking at a GS300

Hello to all. I'm new here, so please be nice:)
I'm looking at a 2000 GS300 with 150000 miles. The car is supposed to be really clean, 2 owner. What should I be aware and look into before I decide to buy it? Is the I6 belt or chain driven? What are the recommended intervals for replacing: coolant+thermostat, water pump, power steering fluid, transmission fluid, diff. fluid, brake fluid, fuel pump? Anything else?
How are these cars holding up? What are the real world mpg you guys are seeing? Is maintenance cost og the GS300 similar in price as the LS400? I like those too, particularly the 98 and 99 LS400. Is the GS300 transmission 4 or 5 speed?
I'm sorry I have so many questions, but I'm really new to these cars and I would like to own one if I can afford the maintenance:)
We have a 9 month boy so I need safe and comfy car with a decent trunk.
Thank you for all the help.
Ilian

2000 gs 300

If you can get your hands on an owner's manual it would help a great deal. I have a 2001 GS with 93K miles on the clock and I'm looking at replacing the timing belt, water pump and thermostat. If the previous owner has a maintenance log, ask him to show it to you or any other documentation. If this car was well taken car of, you can buy it at a good price because of the mileage. These cars can go 200K+. If there are no maintenance records, I'd be very careful about buying it. Beside this GS I have an LS 460. I've had 7 Lexus and they are great cars. With a little child you may want to look into an RX 330 or 350. I had an RX 2001 and 2004.
