Automotive engineering & steel
Hello guys,
since this is a Lexus forum I was wondering if anyone here takes an interest in automotive engineering. A lot of auto parts are made of stainless steel and other robust steel alloys. I think it's imperative that steel in automotive engineering is of top quality and doesn't rost or wear away.
There are many different ways with which you can achive longevity, but which one is the best? How do you make steel the hardest and most robust? I just found this website that makes a pretty good point that boriding and borocoat is the right way when it comes to automotive engineering. What do you think?
