has anyone had any issues with excessive engine noise in an 06 gs300? my previous 99 gs300 and 91 ls were so quiet i had to look at the tach to see if it was running. i can hear my 06 in the cabin with the windows up and seems to be getting louder, car has 9000 miles and will be going in for service soon. i would like to know if it is a common issue before i address it with the dealer.

I would have them check it out. My 1999 has 120,000 and I too have to look at the tach sometimes. Let us know.

The '06 GS uses a different engine with a dual fuel injection system. The high pressure system operates at pressures way in excess of 1000 psi and makes a little more ticking noise than previous models, this is normal.

I got an 06 GS 300 as well. lexustek is right. Mine has a slight sewing machine sound going on when you stand outside w/ engine at idle. But this is normal due to the high velocity fuel system. I tried Sunoco Ultra 94 fuel and same thing - just in case it was octane related. Car is awesome otherwise. You can't hear the tick from inside the car cockpit though. You'll get use to it.
