It may be caused by excess fuel that has entered the cylinder area and cannot be burned completely. A leaky fuel injector may have caused it. Fav car 07-16-2008, 01:23 AM Hey kurtdaniel, Can a leaky fuel injector cause such a problem? I doubt. remember the name 12-11-2008, 09:18 PM What color is the smoke? Might be blow by (worn piston rings) andrew65 01-06-2009, 05:38 AM In older cars people use to check Timing manuaaly. But in todays modern cars everything is[/b] controlled Electronically through ECU. the ECU gets the data of everything from the coolant temperature to the amount of oxygen in the exhaust. With this data, it performs millions of calculations each second, including looking up values in tables, calculating the results of long equations to decide on the best spark timing and determining how long the fuel injector is[/b] open. The ECU does all of this to ensure the lowest emissions and best mileage. Whenever this ECU comes across with any problem an Error code gets genarated. So when they plug the wires to ur Car[/b]'s ECU this error signal is[/b] decoded in the computer. They have a satandard manual of various error codes with reffering to that they can conclude where exactly is[/b] the problem. But yes in your case if you are facing some repeatative problem & ur Car[/b] ECU unable to detact it its better to check or replace entire ECU unit itself. If your car[/b] is[/b] under warenty you can get it done through any authorized service station. |
